Visionary Sport Investment is delighted to announce the launch of a ground breaking summit examining the challenges of life after sport.
The Company will this evening host a dinner for certain key strategic partners to draw up an agenda for the event being staged at Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium.
Ashes legend Mathew Hoggard, Olympian Goldie Sayers, Hull FC rugby league, Challenge Cup winning coach, Lee Redford, rugby union star Ed Slater, Netball international Sara Bayman and newly appointed chairman of the PFA Ben Purkiss are ambassadors for the summit.
Sky Sport News’ front man, James Cooper will chair the dinner and has kindly agreed to be Master of Ceremony at Old Trafford where two hundred industry professional will attend.
VSI, founders of the only internationally recognised MSc in Sporting Directorship, believe the event will match their annual Sporting Directors summit.
Director Tony Faulkner said: “There are so many talented sport professional lost to the industry of sport every year when their playing careers come to an end.
“VSI have created a range of education programs in an attempt to halt this brain drain but there is a long way to go.
“Athletes retire at an age when most business professionals have yet to reach their career peak and that is in itself a massive challenge.
“The debate is far reaching but we wanted a group of strong minded elite professionals to set the agenda.
“They know better than any one the issues that sport as an industry needs to tackle. They will create the agenda and VSI will act as facilitator for the debate.
“VSI pride’s itself in responding to the needs and demands of the sport industry.
“It is absolutely clear that there needs to be a serious debate about the challenges athletes face after sport and the opportunities open to them. “
